General gastroenterology, routine diagnostic & therapeutic endoscopy & colonoscopy
Dr Frank Brennan worked as a consultant at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital from 1991 until 2017. He was actively involved in teaching the advanced trainees during that time.
His interests are in the fields of consultative gastroenterology and colon cancer screening. He delivers a high-quality colonoscopy service using the latest high definition endoscopes. He has been recertified by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia in 2018 with a total documented adenoma detection rate of 62% (classical adenomas 46% and sessile serrated adenomas 16%). Screening protocols advised to patients are always in line with current best practice guidelines aiming to minimize the frequency of intrusive investigations without compromising clinical outcomes.
He has been in private practice at Hollywood since 1991 and have seen a large number and variety of gastroenterology problems.
A holistic approach involving diet and lifestyle advice is incorporated into the care of patients with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), coeliac disease and NCGS (non-coeliac gluten sensitivity). A multidisciplinary approach to gastroenterological problems, particularly those with GI malignancy, is routinely practiced.
Dr Brennan completed his gastroenterology training in Perth. He subsequnetly worked as a consultant Gastroenterologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital from 1991 until 2017.
I enjoy time with my family, playing golf and traveling.
